About Us

Vivekananda Vidyarthi Seva Prakalpa is an attempt inspired by the message of Swami Vivekananda for the education and upliftment of the masses of India. The basic aim of this Prakalpa or initiative is to be a medium of doing Swamiji's work of educating young Indians for the establishment of a stronger India.

The salient points of the project are as follows:

Aim:

Be a medium for the education of young, needy, intelligent and committed individuals by helping them procure tuitions, books and other supplies for the education.

Members:

For now, the members include some of the moderators of the Swami Vivekananda Orkut community and a few enthusiastic members of the same. Anyone else with a commitment to the aim above is welcome.

Method of work: The idea is to generate funds through individuals willing to take part in this noble work and channelize the funds to needy students. The details of this will be given below.

Scope: All of India.

Details:

1. A bank account will be set up for the collection of funds in a nationalized bank. (Click here for more information on the bank account.)

2. Anyone is welcome to donate for the cause in the form of money, fees of the selected students or other educational supplies.

3. Students will be selected at the school and college level. The criteria for the selected students would include proven academic performance, committment and a required support for further education.

4. The students will be provided with tuition and educational supplies on an yearly basis. Interested students can reapply again the following year.

5. The details of students selected will be posted on this blog.

Friends,

Seva Prakalpa has completed the first year and we are entering into the second year. With the blessings of Holy Trinity we had wonderful response from all the members of Swami Vivekananda and Vedanta Community of Orkut. We hope this year too you all will extend your help like you did last year. To cater to the increasing number of members who have shown keen interest to associate themselves with the project, we have created an exclusive community giving the updated details of our activities.

We have made it compulsory for the members to introduce themselves and in what way they can participate in the National Yajna so that we will have only interested persons. 2. Try to find the sponsors from your place
3. Spread the word amongst your friends and relatives
4. Donate your mite
5. Sponsor a child expenses in an orphanage

Small drops becomes a rivulet, small rivulets become river, small rivers become perineal rivers. similarly come join our efforts in this national yajna and become blessed.
